How RamTD Ltd handles personal data in the RamTD till, the RamTD Waiter, RamTD Driver and RamTD Merchant apps, and the online ordering websites and apps we provide to restaurants. Last updated 15 October 2026.

The RamTD Merchant app
RamTD Merchant is used by restaurant owners and managers to see their own shop's orders, sales and reports. To sign in we process your email address and password (stored as a one-way hash). The app receives the orders, payments and reports of the shops your account is linked to. With your permission it sends push notifications for new orders; you can turn these off in your phone's settings at any time. We do not sell this data or use it for advertising.
The RamTD Driver app
RamTD Driver is used by delivery drivers working for a restaurant that uses the RamTD till. We process the driver's name and the login details the restaurant gives them, the deliveries assigned to them, and the times each delivery was completed. While a driver is signed in and has a delivery in progress, the app shares the phone's location with the restaurant so it can tell customers where their order is. Location is not collected when the driver is signed out or has no active delivery. Customers' names, addresses and phone numbers shown to the driver belong to the restaurant and are deleted from the app when the delivery is finished.
The RamTD Waiter app
RamTD Waiter runs on tablets inside the restaurant and talks only to the restaurant's own RamTD till over the local network. It processes the orders taken at the table and the name of the member of staff using it. No personal data is sent to RamTD by this app.
Online ordering websites and apps
We provide branded ordering websites and apps to restaurants. When you order, the restaurant is the data controller and we process your name, contact details, delivery address, order and payment confirmation on its behalf so the order can be prepared, delivered and paid for. Card payments are handled by the payment provider shown at checkout; RamTD does not store full card numbers. Each restaurant's own privacy terms apply to how it uses your details.
Legal basis
We process data to perform the contract with the restaurant or customer (taking and delivering orders, running the till and reports), to meet legal obligations (tax and accounting records), and for our legitimate interests in keeping our systems secure and working.
Storage and security
Data is stored on servers in the United Kingdom and the European Union, protected by encryption in transit, access controls and backups. Till data is also held on the restaurant's own equipment. We keep order and payment records for as long as the restaurant needs them for tax and accounting purposes (normally six years), and driver location history for no more than 90 days.
Sharing
We share data only with the restaurant it belongs to, with payment providers to take payment, with delivery platforms the restaurant has chosen to connect, and with hosting providers that store our systems. We do not sell personal data.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, object to processing or ask for it to be restricted. Email info@ramtd.co.uk. Where RamTD processes data on a restaurant's behalf, we will pass your request to the restaurant. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Deleting your account
Merchant and driver accounts are created by the restaurant. To close one, ask the restaurant or email us and we will remove it; associated personal data is deleted within 30 days unless we must keep it for tax or accounting reasons.
